A local nonprofit that helps the homeless wants to start construction this fall on a multimillion-dollar expansion that includes 52 apartments, a chapel and an administration building. The Orlando Union Rescue Mission got approval on June 15 from the city of Orlando's municipal planning board for its request to build the three-phase project on 5 acres of vacant property on its main campus at West Washington Street and North Tampa Avenue.
