Gifts were doubled, to provide a total of $100,000 for food, shelter, summer activities and other care for 86 homeless children at the Mission. Thanks also to our very generous volunteer Board of Directors who matched every dollar friends sent in for this campaign until the goal of $50,000 was reached! With tens of thousands of families losing their homes and jobs due to the economy, and summer being a time when giving tends to drop, this effort was a huge boost in the work of meeting the growing need for the Mission's services.
