ORLANDO -- Harvest Bible Chapel Orlando joined forces with the Orlando Union Rescue Mission to collect shoes for the upcoming Foot Washing for the Homeless.

The foot washing, which will coincide with the rescue mission's Easter Banquet, will bring in volunteers who will provide a sanitary foot cleaning for about 1,200 homeless men, women and children.

After their feet are cleaned, each person will be given a brand new pair of socks and donated athletic shoes.

"Their primary source of transportation is their feet, and it’s essential that they take care of them and have proper footwear to help them get around the city," said Amanda Fewless, Orlando Union Rescue Mission.
