Job Title:  Trucker

Division:  Bargain Store

Reports To:  Store Director

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

 

Summary:  Demonstrates good customer service skills and picks up donations with care by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Drives truck *
  2. Picks up donations *
  3. Loads donations into truck*
  4. Performs weekly truck check*
  5. Makes scrap metal run weekly*
  6. Makes dump run weekly*
  7. Makes deliveries as needed*

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Directly supervises disciples.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training disciples; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance.

 

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

 

Math Ability: 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
