What to Expect
- What will the money I collect be used for?
All sponsorships collected through One Homeless Night will support the Orlando Union Rescue Mission's programs to help the hungry, hurting, and homeless of Central Florida.
- Are there any fees to participate?
One Homeless Night is a fundraiser to help support the programs offered by the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. By registering for One Homeless Night, you are committing to help provide at least 10 nights of shelter and care ($24.72) totaling $247.20. Get your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers and church group involved in making a difference through this life-changing event! Prizes will be awarded to those collecting the most nights of shelter!
- Is there a deadline to register for One Homeless Night?
Space is limited to the first 500 registrants. Register early so you don't miss your opportunity to participate!
- When is the deadline to turn in donations/sponsorships?
It is highly recommended that donations be turned in no later than Friday, September 10, 2010. Late donations will be accepted on the night of the event. Donations may be mailed to:

- Can I leave the premises before the event concludes?
Registration and check-in cut off time will be 8:00 pm and will be strictly enforced. Participants may leave the premises, but will not be allowed to re-enter.
- Will there be security and medical personnel present at the event?
Yes. Security staff and medical personnel will be on-hand at the event. The premises will be well-lit and fenced-in. Gates close promptly at 8 pm and no participant(s) will be permitted re-entry after that time.
- What should I bring to One Homeless Night Under the Overpass?
- Sleeping Bag
- Blankets
- Pillow
- Jackets/ Sweatshirts
- Snacks
- Will bathrooms be available?
Yes. There will be portable toilets available.
- Is there a minimum age to participate?
All participants must be over the age of 5 and participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
- I'm unable to participate in One Homeless Night, but I would still like to make a donation. How can I do this?
If you would like to sponsor a participant of One Homeless Night without actually attending the event, you can donate online (be sure to include his/her name on your gift). You can also send your contribution to:

- Where do I park during the event?
Parking for One Homeless Night will be on the event site (the parking lot between Washington St. and Central Blvd. underneath I-4). Secure, pre-paid parking is available for $5. Overflow parking will be directly adjacent to the event and will cost $12.
- Will I be sleeping with the homeless?
No. The Orlando Union Rescue Mission provides shelter for the homeless; however, this event is specifically designed for those in the community wanting to bring awareness and support to those experiencing homelessness in a safe, secure environment.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO ONE HOMELESS NIGHT. IF ANY OF THESE ITEMS ARE FOUND, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO RETURN THEM TO YOUR VEHICLE.
