Local Rescue Mission to Host Final Easter Banquet Before Relocation of Men’s Home

Orlando, FL – Orlando Union Rescue Mission (OURM) is set to host one final Annual Easter Banquet at its current Men’s Home. The event comes four years after the Orlando Magic and OURM reached an agreement to purchase the land at the corner of Central Boulevard and Division Street to make way for the NBA team’s $200 million entertainment complex. The new Men’s campus, located in the 3300 block of W. Colonial drive, will offer 200 beds and enhanced social and rehabilitative services.

The Mission’s Annual Easter Banquet is free and open to anyone in need. Staff members and volunteers expect to serve between 600 and 800 meals. On the menu: ham, yams, green beans, rolls, and an assortment of desserts. In addition to a hot meal, Banquet guests will receive socks and hygiene essentials, all donated by local individuals, schools, churches, and businesses.

Where: OURM Men’s Center- 410 West Central Blvd. Orlando, FL 32801 (parking on street directly in front of Men’s Division will be reserved for media and marked with cones)

Time: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
