Record Numbers Expected as Local Rescue Mission Prepares for Final Thanksgiving Banquet

Orlando, FL – Tomorrow, the Orlando Union Rescue Mission (OURM) will host its annual Thanksgiving Banquet for the last time at the current Men’s Center location on the corner of Central Boulevard and Division Street. This comes after the announcement last week that OURM reached a deal with the Orlando Magic to purchase the property for $3 million.

OURM’s annual Banquet is free and open to anyone within the community that may not otherwise be able to afford a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Hundreds are expected to show up, as a surge in meals served compared to last year’s numbers. OURM staff is preparing to hand out anywhere from 800 to 1,000 dinners at the Banquet. Along with a warm meal, OURM will distribute new packages of socks and undergarments that have been donated by schools, churches, individuals and local organizations throughout the community.

Time: 11am-1pm
